First four photos: Delaware Valley Traction Company Express motor 47 freelanced built in 1985. Cast resin ends, matte board sides laminated to styrene, wood roof. Express motor lettered for Bucks County Electric Railroad at loading dock built by George Vandeventer in 1980 as a postal service car, modified by John Derr in 1986, further modified and restored by me into an express motor about 8 years ago. Flat motor no. 19 built in 1992 based upon photo in a book of a Scagit River unit. Double articulated DVT box cab inspired by a Piedmont and Northern locomotive. Body made of Strathmore artist's board treated with shellac. All four trucks are powered. Locomotive is an actual 30 inches long and will negotiate a 24 inch radius curve in 1/2 inch scale. Trucks scratchbuilt by Jim Richards or, in recent years by me following Jim's design.
Next three photos: Flat motor 19 again and a DVT box cab with cast resin ends, matte board sides, wood roof on an old Lionel standard gauge frame that I picked up at a train show for $2. Headlight is also a Lionel standard gauge part from a train show that cost 75 cents. The red pantograph is by LGB. Freight cars are by various manufacturers with trucks regauged to 2.5 inches. The steel wheels and axles with prototype flanges and tapered treads were turned 40 years ago by a high school friend who was an excellent machinist.
