The East Penn Traction Club, Inc.
Tom Lederer
Born and raised in Philadelphia. Fascinated with rail since a child as I still have my Lionel
steam engine and bay window caboose from Christmas 1956.
Was introduced to the East Penn Traction Club in the early 80s as I was a member of the
MPRA – Metropolitan Philadelphia Railway Association.
Took the 15 trolley to high school and sometimes I would take the 15 on a long ride to
college at Saint Joseph’s transferring to the 52 bus. Was always a big PCC fan since the
days of “hanging-out” with grade school friends on North 4th Street watching the 50 turn
southbound from eastbound Oxford and “squeal” around the corner.
Presently employed at Merck and Company, Inc. as an auditor. Spent 26 years with
the Philadelphia Police Department in various Bureaus – Patrol, Detective, Training, etc.
I am the proud owner of a 20 foot four (4) part module constructed by Chet MORTON,
Larry LOYKO, and the late Richard VIBLE.
